I'm back from one amazing weekend of climbing, fun and Adventure this weekend I got the chance to ticket something off my bucket list that I added lately and that was climb the tallest peak in Victoria and I did it thank goodness and I did it in memory of my grandpa to which I found out when I got back that it's ten years to the day that he died. I also did it because I love a challenge and I'm not a tourist really. As this exploring continues I've got to explore properly and I think climbing up a mountain 6,515 ft high, Seems like a good way to explore.
my mind is blown away once again by the wonders of Gods creation I can't describe how amazing God is specially when I see places like I saw today..
Here is just my weekend in a nutshell I hope...
Saturday 5:15am I woke up ready and raring to Go on a adventure I barely got any sleep the night before worried about the concept of whether I would last five minuets in the Aus heat and would my fitness levels be able to cope with the climbing. Getting ready was a challenge because days before I didn't have the stuff I needed to climb but luckily my really lovely friends provided me with all I needed for the challenge.
Ready for the challenge
The journey from balwyn to the car park at the bottom of mt Bogong was 5 hours long and it went pretty quick. I felt ready little did I know it was mad what hit within the first 2km I was pretty weak we started the climb around half 12 I think and with the help of friends I powered through breaking many times We made it to the half way mark at 4pm before the top. We stopped for at least a hour making the choice wether our bodies could with stand more of the climb.
We decide to set up camp and make our way up top at 6pm before the sun left us. The journey up top was even more exciting seeing more and more of the dead trees surrounding the landscape it's amazing how something so dead could be so beautiful. My mind begun to ponder and Remind me of the song lyrics you turn ashes into beauty morning into dancing.. These trees framed the environment around us poking into the sky there white like structure creating a frame as we climbed up adding so much character to the enviroment.
It got me think about many things as I climbed Ezekiel 37... The power of the word of The Lord turned a valley of dry bones into a varse army. It got me thinking more about how God uses the weak to do works for the Kingdom Of God. As I kept on traveling up the mountain I felt closer to Gods presence. Further up the mountain I climb songs of worship came to me.
This picture made me remember that I'm just a ant in comparison to this landscape. "But I know all there is know about Rosie... Psalm 139
Who has told every lightning bolt where it should go
Or seen heavenly storehouses laden with snow
Who imagined the sun and gives source to its light
Yet conceals it to bring us the coolness of night
Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name.
Incomparable, unchangeable
You see the depths of my heart and You love me the same
The promises just kept coming to me...
I was nearly there as some of the others in the group decided to make there way back down to camp explaining the challenges that lay ahead myself and the rest behind were not gonna give up, I felt like I climb so far I didn't feel like quitting now so we pressed on. And it was worth the climb!!
I couldn't believe my eyes when I arrived at the top...
One thing I feel from that time up there I felt like I didn't want to leave I felt that God was there and being with him was home. I can not describe the feeling I felt when I stood there on this part of Victoria viewing the world below as ant like as we are God gave me perspective to realise over and again again that if our God is for us and he's created this amazing part of such a massive piece of creation I believe that God gives me strength to do anything. Phil 14:3 says I can do all things through Christ whom strengthens me. That is so true In all things God has a infested interest in all 7 billion of us dispute what you may or not believe I have strength and purpose because of him nothing is more important.
I have strength in him and I was again reminded of that today..
As bumping back down the mountain and turn into bed that night in my sleeping bag I never felt so close to the creator than I did right in that very moment.
The friends I grown to know over the last four weeks whilest in Melbourne I've understood that real people are hard to find luckily I've found some amazing friends thanks for introducing me to these people God...
Stayed tuned for more adventure
Love to you all my friends and Family home and away...
